General Information:

The tournament will start at 9:30 and be done roughly at 1:30. All games will be refereed by students from Turner Fenton Secondary School. All games will be taking place in our full gym. Teams not playing will be sitting in our music room to relax and eat.

The games will be played more or less like NHL hockey games. Rules, equipment, etc. are all noted below.

Teams playing schedule will be made by random draw when the teams show up.

There will be some treats sold during our recess breaks, however, there will be no lunch items (i.e., no pizza).

Due to the fact we don’t have a stage, there will be no parents spectators.

Teams will be awarded 2 points for a win and 1 point for a tie. Ties will be allowed during the round robin portion of the tournament. During the playoffs, if a game is tied after 25 minutes, the two teams will take part in a sudden death (next goal scored wins) period of no more then 5 minutes. If the game is still tied after 5 minutes of overtime, there will be a shoot out. Teams will select 3 shooters each to start. From that point it will be sudden death shootout.

If two teams are tied at the end of the round robin, seeding will be determined by:

-  head to head

-  least points against

-  most points for

-  coin flip

RULES:

  • Games will be one 20 minute period, straight time with no time outs
  • There will be 5 on 5 play plus a goalie
